For teachers

For students

Key message

Learning modules about digital citizenship.

Google Teacher Centre offers several free online courses. The Digital Citizenship and Safety Course is a self-paced online course that can be completed in 70-80 minutes.

This online course is designed for teachers and students to learn how they can help create a safe and positive experience online. Students and teachers can access this course by logging into the teacher centre using their Google credentials (@education.nsw.gov.au).

By reading, watching videos, and doing activities, teachers can learn how to integrate Digital Citizenship and Safety activities into their classroom curriculum. Good citizenship in the classroom and school community is an important skill. Because people spend so much time online, it is important to teach students how to stay safe on the web.

In order to become good and responsible digital citizens, students need to practice critical thinking, learn how to protect their information, and have good privacy habits.

The proper use of technology helps students learn better, and as a whole it enables school communities to function better.
